Recordkeeping

The Records Management Policy and Outreach Program, under the Office of the Chief Records Officer for the U.S. Government, is responsible for developing Federal records management policies and guidance related to records creation, management, and disposition with an emphasis on electronic records. The Policy and Outreach Program champions the critical importance of Federal records management across the Federal Government.

Under the authority of the Archives and Recordkeeping Act, 2006 Hall Of Fame Collection Archival Library provides recordkeeping advisory services to assist private and/or public designated agencies meet their recordkeeping responsibilities under the Act. Recordkeeping Amendments to FIPPA/MFIPPA

The Public Sector and MPP Accountability and Transparency Act, 2014 amended the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA). The FIPPA/MFIPPA amendments related to recordkeeping are contained in Schedule 6 of the Act and take effect on January 1, 2016. For more information, see below:
